A one day Andes trekking. Snowy peaks, wild alpacas and the highest mountain within reach. This is Andes! The hike at Ausangate is not difficult, but contains several uphill sections. Do you want to eat lunch at 4850 meter above sea level, while looking at one of the most beautiful views in the Cusco region? Ausangate, a wonderful mixture of natural wonders, local folklore and trekking.


Extra option
There is also an option to combine this trek with Rainbow Mountain and/or the Incas bridge Qeswachaka. In this option we do not go back to Cusco, but instead stay on the road which allows us to save many hours. This extra time can be used for other attractions. If you are interested, let us know and recieve more details.

Cusco – Ausangate – Cusco

We leave around 4:00 am from Cusco. After 3.5 hours drive and a short break, we start trekking towards Base Camp. Ausangate peak looms in the distance for the whole trip, providing different perspectives on its majesty. We have lunch with a view on Cordillera Vilcanota. Throughout the day we walk through a few small villages, where we marvel the alpacas and the mountain landscapes. Along the way are many lakes which makes the Peruvian Andes so beautiful. Afterwards we drive back to Cusco. Trekking time: 7-8 hours Maximum elevation: 4,850 meter above sea level\
